Suitable Seed/Vegetative Lot Search Results

The results of your search will be displayed at the bottom of the search screen.

The following image is the bottom half of the Suitable Seed/Vegetative Lot Search screen with search results displayed. The results are sorted based on the same rules as the Lot Search results. For more information about list sorting, refer to the Lot Search - Viewing Results section in this module.

A brief description of some of the display features is included below the image.

There are several items you should be aware of when viewing search results.

  • The Refresh button is only used if you are changing the way you want information to be displayed. For example, displayed by number of trees instead of grams/cuttings.
  • W (warning) is displayed in the first column of the results to show that the Seedlot area of use elevation range only partially fits the site elevation range that was entered in the parameters.
  • E (exception) is displayed in the first column of the results if Seedlots that were entered in the "Specific Lot(s)" filter do not have an area of use SPZ or BGC zone that match the site parameters entered or if the elevation, latitude or longitude limits have been exceeded.
  • TG button takes you to the Transfer Guide Exceptions screen.
  • DT button takes you to the Seedlot Detail screen if you select a Seedlot or the Vegetative Lot Details screen if you select a Vegetative Lot.

Transfer Guide Exceptions Screen

View sample Transfer Guide Exceptions screen.

This screen is used to indicate the suitability of a given Seedlot or Vegetative Lot for use at a particular planting location. The Transfer Guide Exceptions form highlights any problems that exist between the Seedlot or Vegetative Lot and the planned location or planting site. If the Suitable Seed / Vegetative Lot form displays a result with an E or W indicator, then the details of the Exception/Warning are displayed on this screen.

On the Transfer Guide Exceptions screen you can compare the elevation minimum, maximum, and mean values. It is important to look closely at this information because sometimes the results you receive may fit within most of your elevation range but not entirely. This side-by-side comparison of geographic information, as well as the recommendations which sometimes appear, help provide you with a clear indication of whether this lot will be suitable for your planting site.

Other information to be aware of includes:

  • (mean) values are most important for Class B lots because they identify where they were collected
  • Latitude and Longitude are especially important to determining suitability for Class B
  • (min)(max) values relate to the intended range of use
