An authorization is the action of providing another user, or yourself, with the ability to perform specific functions within an application for a given organization or all organizations. |

You must have a status of Authorization Grantor in ADAM in order to add an authorization. The individual receiving the authorization will become an End User of the authorized application. This user will also be able to view his/her authorization(s) using the My Authorizations page in ADAM. You may have been delegated the ability to manage authorizations for one or more applications; however, your ability to add authorizations for an application may be limited by:

Authorizations allow other individuals to access the application. Without these, the End Users will be unable to access the application. |

For example, Jack Black is an Authorization Grantor for the Invasive Alien Plants Program Application. He works with the Northern Weed Committee and, therefore, has the ability to grant authorizations for this organization. In addition, he may only grant authorizations which are for the IAPP Biological Manager profile. Jack knows that Clark Griswold requires this authorization right away. Therefore, Jack grants the following authorization to Clark:
