"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future."

John Fitzgerald Kennedy

The Chiedza Child Care Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe, is home to 150 children between the ages of 6 and 13. Most of the children at the orphanage have lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic that is devastating that country; Zimbabwe currently has over a million AIDS orphans. The director of the centre is Stella Mesikano.

We are trying to make a difference to the children at the orphanage by helping to pay for an education and a chance at a better life. All money we send is used to pay for school fees and the supplies and books help them with their learning. Last year we sent a monetary donation as well as children's books to the Orphanage.

How can you help?
We have a colleague who travels regularly to Zimbabwe who will deliver any money and supplies we collect directly to Stella at the Orphanage. If you would like to help you can:

1. Donate any office supplies -- the children at the orphanage could really use pens, pencils, felts.
2. Donate any children's books -- new and used books are welcome.
3. Make a monetary donation -- cash or cheques should be made out to Videa which is a registered non-profit organization based in Victoria, every penny of the cash goes directly to the Orphanage. A tax receipt can be issued for all donations over $10.00.

If you have anything to donate - please email Laura or Julie at information@knowledgesolutions.ca and we will make sure that the donations are picked up, packaged and make their way directly to the Orphanage. Thanks for helping to make a difference!
