Checklist Checklists - give you an overview of what you have to do, and helps you keep track of the details. For example, who do you need to communicate with and how often, what actions need to be done and when, who is responsible?

In addition to the many checklists found throughout the chapters, there is the "Overview Checklist". If you are an experienced implementer, this may be all you need. You can access this at any time by using the Overview Checklist link on the homepage as a guideline to the entire implementation process.

Actions Actions - will form the concrete "to do" items on your checklists. They may be things for you to do individually or to accomplish in collaboration with others.
Reflections Reflections - help you organize your thoughts as you are preparing for the next step. Here you will also find helpful "key questions" intended to remind you of an important factor or task, or help you anticipate challenges and decide what action to take next.
Workbook Resource Resources - indicate a deeper level of information. The suggested readings may include recommendations from other implementation manuals, articles, journals or websites. The contacts will put you in touch with individuals in VIHA who can help you. The worksheets and templates provide an easy format for specific work documents or items, so you don't have to "reinvent the wheel."

Many of these resources can be found in the Workbook Library. The library is a comprehensive source of resources you can use as you implement your practice change. For example, download Forms directly to your computer or read Library files online. You can access the Library at any time by clicking the Library link on the bottom navigation bar.

Summary Summary - pulls together what you should know and have accomplished in the step you just completed. This is a good place to take stock or make notes before moving forward on to the next step.
Clock - the "clock" icon at the start of each chapter indicates roughly how long that particular chapter will take you to read through completely the first time. Always try your best to complete the entire chapter in one sitting!

Note: The "clock" indicates the time to complete the chapter, not the actual time to complete that component of your implementation.

Your Involvement

Links - The Workbook includes many links. You can recognize these links by their blue underlined text (i.e., popup link). When you click on a link, you will be navigated to a "pop-up" window or to a new page within the Workbook. Pop-up windows are smaller windows that will pop-up over the main window you are on. You can close the pop-up window by clicking the X in the upper right-hand corner of the window or by using the Close link in the bottom right-hand corner.

Rollovers - A rollover can be text or a graphic that you roll your mouse over and the graphic or text changes! You will be provided with instructions when this feature is available.

Resources - As you become more experienced, you may find all you need is a checklist or two to keep you on-track. There are many resources (readings & tools) throughout the Workbook for you to use when you're implementing your own practice change. You can save these tools to your hard drive for future use.

Now that you have an understanding of how to use the Workbook, you are ready to move to the next page to learn why this Implementation Workbook has been introduced at VIHA.
